Gov. Noem Attempts One Last Medical Marijuana Bill on Veto Day

Governor Noem pushed for the Legislature to consider one last bill to change the medical marijuana law on Veto Day, the last day of the 2021 Legislative Session.

This bill was floated among legislators.

In response, we proposed these changes to the bill.

Our proposed changes were not incorporated into the bill and we urged legislators to reject it, which is what they did. No bill was passed.

In the end, all of Governor Noem’s attempts to make changes to South Dakota’s voter approved medical marijuana law ended in failure.
