Media Coverage: Rapid City Officials and Community Members Voice Opinions on Initiated Measure 29

Rapid City, SD – On Halloween, Rapid City officials used the holiday to spook voters off of marijuana legalization with bogus claims, using downtown Rapid City as the backdrop. City officials voiced opposition to IM29, including debunked claims that youth usage of cannabis increases with legalization. When asked about the fairness of South Dakota’s possession via ingestion law, all city officials declined to respond.

Kitt Jeffries, owner and operator of Puffy’s Dispensary, voiced support for the measure citing the drop in youth cannabis use nationwide since 24 states legalized. Also voicing support was Andrew Cisneros, stating his support for cannabis legalization after working in the prison system for over 20 years.
