Press Conference: Advocates Request Clarity From State and Local Governments on Protections for Medical Cannabis Patients
Today, SDBML held a press conference to request clarity from the Governor, Attorney General, State Attorneys, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and local police departments regarding the medical cannabis patient protections that take effect tomorrow.
We are concerned by the lack of clarity on this issue.
Whether or not the government has the authority to arrest a person is the most basic form of government transparency.
There are patient protections established by South Dakota’s medical cannabis law that take effect tomorrow. We want to ensure that these policies are upheld consistently across the state.
