Help us defend the rights of South Dakota medical cannabis patients from politicians in Pierre:
Although Measure 29 was sadly defeated last year, South Dakota patients still have access to medical marijuana… for now.
Unfortunately, that isn’t enough for the prohibitionists in our state who want to criminalize people for cannabis. Now there is talk that they might try to completely repeal the medical law (despite the fact that it was resoundingly approved by 70% of voters in 2020).
For the past four years, the South Dakota Legislature has attempted to weaken our state’s medical law. But now they may try to kill it altogether.
The upcoming legislative session could be the toughest battle we’ve ever faced. So please contact your state legislators by phone and email this week and deliver a simple message: leave medical cannabis patients alone and oppose any attempt to repeal South Dakota’s medical cannabis program!
It’s easy to do. First, visit sdbml.org/vote to look up your legislative district. Then visit sdbml.org/legislature to find contact information for your three state legislators (two in the House and one in the Senate). If you have any questions, leave a comment or send us a message!
